Trail description
A 3 km loop in Big Bend National Park from the Chisos Basin Trailhead that climbs gradually through shady stands of Mexican pine, oak and juniper, with views of the Window and the mountains around the basin. Bears and mountain lions use the dense arroyos, and Mexican jays live in the pines. The Chisos are the only mountain range in the United States entirely inside a national park. The loop is easiest counterclockwise.
