The classic Yorkshire Dales challenge over Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, about 24 miles from Horton in Ribblesdale and back, passing the Ribblehead Viaduct between the second and third climbs. Many walkers aim to finish within 12 hours. The tops are exposed, so start early, check the forecast and carry enough food and water.
