Trail description
From Lanthwaite Green near Crummock Water the path climbs steeply over Whin Ben to Whiteside (707 m), then follows the edge above the Gasgale Gill crags east to Hopegill Head (770 m). The walk is about 7 km out and back with 670 m of climbing; the ridge is narrow and rocky in places.
