Trail description
The waymarked Waterfalls and Goldmines Trail starts at the Tyddyn Gwladys car park in Coed y Brenin Forest Park and follows a forest road up the steep-sided Mawddach valley. It reaches the falls of Pistyll Cain and Rhaeadr Mawddach and passes the Gwynfynydd gold mine, which closed in 1999, before returning along the east bank. A downloadable audio trail tells the story of the Tyddyn Gwladys gunpowder works along the way.
