Trail description

From Ogwen at the west end of Llyn Ogwen the path climbs straight up the south ridge of Pen yr Ole Wen (978 m), with a scramble over rock bands in the upper half, to the summit at the southern end of the Carneddau, high above the Ogwen valley and Tryfan. It is one of the steepest paths in Snowdonia, very hard work in both directions.
