Trail description

From the Natural Resources Wales car park in Mynydd Du Forest, in the Grwyne Fawr valley, a forest track and footpath climb through the conifers onto the open moorland. The path then follows the ridge west to the cairn on Pen y Gadair Fawr. At 800 metres it is the second highest peak in the Black Mountains and a far more distinctive top than its slightly higher neighbour, Waun Fach.
