Trail description

Natural Resources Wales waymarks the Bluestone Walk from the lay-by on the A470 at the Craig Cerrig-gleisiad a Fan Frynych National Nature Reserve. The trail follows the stream into a glacial amphitheatre of cliffs, climbs steeply through heather and bilberry to a cairn and returns down a grassy slope with stepping stones. The north-facing crags shelter purple saxifrage and other arctic-alpine plants at their southernmost location in the UK.
