Cave Hill and McArt's Fort

Trail description

From the car park by the adventure playground on the drive to Belfast Castle, the route climbs through Cave Hill Country Park and the old limestone quarry to McArt's Fort, an ancient rath standing almost 368 metres above sea level with wide views over Belfast. The council currently directs walkers to the fort through the quarry, because the Cavehill Trail between the Devil's Punchbowl and the fort is closed by erosion.
