Castlerock to Mussenden Temple

Trail description

This signature walk leaves Castlerock station along the promenade and the Moors Trail, past the Victorian Shell Pool and Black Glen Lake, to the cliff edge of Downhill Demesne. It reaches Mussenden Temple, built in 1785 as a summer library for the Earl Bishop on a 300 foot cliff, then passes the ruins of Downhill House and the Bishop's Gate on the way back to the village.
