Trail description
This walk leaves the Moot Hall in Keswick town centre, follows the old railway path east and climbs a quiet lane to Castlerigg Stone Circle. The ring of standing stones was probably raised about 4,500 years ago in the late Neolithic, with Helvellyn, Skiddaw and Blencathra in view. It is the most visited stone circle in Cumbria, and parking at the site is limited.
