Cairn Gorm

Trail description

Starting from the Coire Cas car park at the Cairngorm Mountain ski area, this walk climbs the Windy Ridge path on Sron an Aonaich, the steep and direct route recommended by local rangers, then passes above the Ptarmigan top station to the broad stony summit. Cairn Gorm rises to 1,245 m, the sixth-highest mountain in the British Isles, and in 1986 a 173 mph gust was recorded here.
