Trail description

From the roadside car park near Cold East Cross, a grassy path runs south across open moor to the granite tor of Buckland Beacon, 382 metres above the Dart valley. Rocks at its base carry the Ten Commandments, carved in 1928 by local sculptor W A Clement for landowner William Whitley, and the tor takes its name from its old role as a fire beacon.
