Trail description

A flat 3 km walk past the Xerxes inscription and the ruins of old Van below the Fortress of Van. The massive stone fortress was built by the kingdom of Urartu between the 9th and 7th centuries BC and is the largest of its kind. It overlooks the ruins of Tushpa, the Urartian capital.
