Uçhisar to Göreme Valley Walk

Trail description

A 3.3 km walk through Pigeon Valley between Goreme and the rock castle of Uchisar in Cappadocia, with about 250 m of height difference between the valley floor and the castle at about 1,340 m. The valley is named for the dovecotes carved into its soft rock over centuries to collect pigeon droppings as fertiliser for vineyards and orchards. Most people walk it downhill from Uchisar in about 1.5 hours; the Evil Eye Tree hung with blue nazar beads stands about midway.
