Tortum Waterfall

Trail description

A 3.3 km walk of about 110 m of climbing ending at the Tortum Waterfall in Uzundere, the tallest waterfall in Turkey. Since the Tortum dam and hydroelectric plant were completed in 1960, the lake's water is sent through tunnels to the turbines. The fall now runs only for a short time in May and June, when the lake is exceptionally high, and is almost dry the rest of the year.
