Trail description
A 1.1 km walk to the cave church of St Pierre on the slope of Mount Starius above Antakya. The cave is about 13 m deep, 9.5 m wide and 7 m high, and tradition holds that Peter preached here and that the followers of Jesus were first called Christians in Antioch. Its oldest surviving parts, floor mosaics and fresco traces, date from at least the 4th or 5th century.
