Ayvalık Coast Walk

Trail description

A seafront walk in Ayvalık, a town on the northwestern Aegean coast of Turkey. The route follows the shore streets of the old town from the İlk Kurşun monument north along the quays and back, about 3 km in all. Before 1923 the town was predominantly Greek, and many of its old stone houses remain. Under the Ottomans Ayvalık had a flourishing olive-oil industry, and the chimneys of the old factories can still be seen about town.
