Trail description

The walk starts at the Pilatus Kulm guidepost and follows the marked path south-west, mostly asphalted and fitted with railings, just below the main ridge on its south side, before it winds up in a few bends to the summit of the Tomlishorn. At 2128 m the Tomlishorn is the highest summit of the Pilatus massif. The path is also the Pilatus Flower Trail, a gift of the Pro Pilatus association, and its information boards describe the alpine plants along the way, which range from alpine anemones to gentians. Alpine plants are protected throughout the Pilatus area, and the trail is usually open from mid-June to October. The walk is about 1.4 km one way, with some 75 m of climbing.
