Trail description

A long 9.9 km climb of about 1,750 m from Alpnachstad on Lake Lucerne to Pilatus Kulm and the Esel summit at 2,119 m. The path follows the line of the Pilatus railway, the steepest cogwheel railway in the world, past the Mattalp to the summit hotels. The last part is steep and rocky.
