Trail description

The walk starts at the Muottas Muragl guidepost near the top of the funicular and follows marked T2 mountain paths around the slopes of the Schafberg, past the Unterer Schafberg mountain restaurant, to the top station of the Alp Languard chairlift above Pontresina. Engadin Tourism describes this panorama trail as running through pine forest and past gnarled stone-pine roots, with the Bernina range always in view. Muottas Muragl, reached by funicular from Punt Muragl since 1907, looks out over the Upper Engadine lakes of Sils, Silvaplana and St. Moritz. The walk is about 6.7 km one way and mostly traverses: it starts at 2452 m, dips to about 2235 m and ends at 2326 m at Alp Languard, with some 190 m of climbing along the way.
