Märjelensee from Fiescheralp

Trail description

A 6.3 km walk with about 510 m of climbing from Fiescheralp up below the Eggishorn and over the Tälligrat ridge past the little Tällisee to the Märjelensee, a lake at about 2,350 m at the edge of the Great Aletsch Glacier. The path tops out at about 2,720 m, then drops past the Märjelen reservoir and the Gletscherstube Märjelen inn. The lake once held back by the ice has shrunk as the glacier retreated, and icebergs no longer float on it.
