Trail description

A 3.2 km mountain path in the Alpstein between the Seealpsee at about 1,140 m and Ebenalp, with about 500 m of height difference. It passes the Wildkirchli caves, where excavations in 1904 found the bones of cave bears and other animals and traces of Neanderthal hunters, and the Aescher guesthouse built against the cliff, one of the oldest inns in Switzerland. The cable car from Wasserauen serves Ebenalp.
