Trail description
The walk starts on the summit of the Chäserrugg and descends the marked mountain path along the broad summit ridge and via Stöfeli to the Iltios funicular station above Unterwasser. At 2262 m the Chäserrugg is the easternmost of the seven Churfirsten, and in 2015 the 1970s cable car station on its summit was extended with a restaurant building designed by Herzog & de Meuron. The funicular between Unterwasser and Iltios opened in 1934. The walk is about 5.7 km one way, with some 935 m of descent.
