Ascona to Brissago Lakeside

Trail description

An 8.1 km walk with about 430 m of climbing from Ascona to Brissago on the hillside above Lake Maggiore, since the lakeside road runs through a tunnel closed to walkers. Ascona, on the lake shore in the district of Locarno, is known for its yearly jazz festival. The path looks down on the Brissago Islands, whose larger island, San Pancrazio, is famous for its botanical garden.
