Aluvihare Rock Temple Walk

Trail description

A walk among cave temples set between great boulders on a hillside near Matale. This is where the Buddhist scriptures were first written down on palm leaves two thousand years ago. Painted caves and stairways climb the rock to viewpoints over the valley.
