Adam's Peak (Sri Pada) from Palabaddala

Trail description

The long pilgrim path to Adam's Peak (Sri Pada) from Palabaddala, on the Ratnapura side: about 8 km and 1,800 m of climb, mostly on steps, to the 2,243 m summit with its shrine of the sacred footprint. It is far longer and quieter than the Dalhousie route; most pilgrims climb at night in the season from December to May to see the sunrise and the peak's shadow on the clouds.
