Trail description

A 10.4 km loop through the Garrotxa volcanic zone, by the Croscat and the Santa Margarida and Fontpobra volcano reserves, partly on the GR2. The Croscat is the youngest and highest volcano of the Iberian Peninsula, last erupting about 14,000 years ago. Its north-east flank was quarried for gravel until the early 1990s, exposing the inside of the cone.
