Vega de Urriellu

Trail description

A 5.7 km climb of about 780 m from above Bulnes to the Vega de Urriellu, at about 1,940 m in the Picos de Europa National Park. The Vega is a glacial valley at the foot of the Naranjo de Bulnes (Picu Urriellu), 2,519 m, famous for the 550 m vertical wall of its west face. It was first climbed in 1904 by Pedro Pidal with the shepherd Gregorio Perez, El Cainejo.
