Trail description

The walk starts at the municipal car park in Riells del Fai and climbs past the Font de la Pineda on the path up from Riells, finishing up a flight of steps at the lower entrance of Sant Miquel del Fai. The former Benedictine priory sits in the cliffs of the Cingles de Bertí, and its Romanesque church of Sant Miquel was built under a large rock overhang that serves as its roof. The Diputació de Barcelona bought the site in 2017 and reopened it on 22 April 2023; entry is free but needs a ticket booked in advance, visitor numbers are capped, and the site closes from 15 December to 15 March for maintenance. The walk is about 2.4 km one way, with some 175 m of climbing.
