Pico de la Pila desde La Garapacha

Trail description

Signed trail PR-MU 126 in the Sierra de la Pila Regional Park, from the church square of La Garapacha (Fortuna) up the old track to the high fields of El Revolcador, round the Pico de los Cenajos by the Collado del Aire and past the snow pits to the 1,265 m summit of La Pila, marked by the white AEMET weather radar dome. The town hall gives 6.5 km one way, about 3 hours and 775 m of ascent; the last stretch follows the paved summit road. There is little shade and no drinking water, so it is not recommended in summer, and care is needed near the cliffs.
