El Torreón desde el Puerto del Boyar

Trail description

A climb from the Puerto del Boyar pass above Grazalema to El Torreón, at 1,648 m the highest summit of the Cádiz province and of the Sierra de Grazalema. The path crosses limestone slopes with scattered Spanish firs before the steep final section to the top, with views to the Strait of Gibraltar on clear days. The route lies in a restricted area of the natural park: it needs a free permit from the park office and is closed in summer for fire risk.
