Trail description
The walk starts at the car park by the Casa del Parque, the park's visitor centre in an old mill building at the edge of Ucero, and heads up the canyon on the Senda del Río (PR-SO-BU-65) beside the Río Lobos to the Ermita de San Bartolomé. The river has cut the canyon into Upper Cretaceous limestone, a karst full of caves and sinkholes, and about a hundred pairs of griffon vultures live on its cliffs. The ermita, an early 13th-century chapel, stands on open ground in front of the mouth of the Cueva Grande. The walk is about 5.4 km one way, with some 65 m of climbing.
