Trail description

From Cabana Piatra Mare (1,630 m) this short climb follows the red stripe through meadow and forest, skirting Șura de Piatră on its north side. A steep scree gully of about 80 m leads onto the summit plateau, then the path rises gently to Vârful Piatra Mare (1,843 m), with views to the Bucegi, Postăvaru and Făgăraș. The gully needs care in winter, and the upper section is hard to navigate in fog, rain or blizzard.
