Trail description

From Cabana Negoiu (1,540 m), renovated in 2018, this climb follows the blue triangle along Drumul Zmeilor, a built path with metal footbridges fixed to the rock face, into the wide Căldarea Sărății, then zigzags steeply to Piatra Prânzului and crosses large slabs to Șaua Cleopatra on the main Făgăraș ridge. A final steep pitch reaches Negoiu (2,535 m), Romania's second highest peak. Allow about 3.5 hours from the hut.
