Trail description

PR 3, an easy 7.2 km descent of about 2 hours 40 minutes from just below the summit of Pico do Areeiro (1,805 m) to the Funchal Ecological Park welcome centre at Ribeira das Cales (1,130 m), passing the Poço da Neve, an igloo-shaped ice house from 1813. The trail is managed by the Funchal municipality rather than IFCN, so it is outside the IFCN slot-booking and fee scheme that applies to most Madeira PR trails.
