Passadiços do Paiva

Trail description

A wooden walkway of about 8 km that clings to the left bank of the Paiva river between Espiunca and Areinho in the Arouca Geopark. It passes rapids, river beaches and the quartzite gorge of the Garganta do Paiva, and ends with a long staircase down to Areinho. Tickets have to be bought in advance; starting in Espiunca saves climbing that staircase.
