Levada do Furado PR10

Trail description

A 10.5 km walk along the Levada do Furado (PR 10), one of the oldest public levadas on Madeira, between Portela and Ribeiro Frio in the north-east of the island, at 645 to 880 m. From Ribeiro Frio the path follows the levada through the laurel forest before descending to Portela, so walked from Portela it is a climb of about 235 m. Ribeiro Frio, about 15 km from Funchal, has a forest park and a trout farm that restocks the island's streams.
