Trail description
A 2.9 km climb of about 300 m from Castanheira in the Serra da Freita on the PR7 Nas Escarpas da Mizarela, crossing the Caima river and rising to the Frecha da Mizarela viewpoint. The waterfall on the Caima drops about 75 m, one of the highest in Portugal, over a step where hard granite meets softer schist, and the track crosses that rock contact above the falls. It is a geosite of the Arouca Geopark.
