Estoril to Carcavelos

Trail description

A coastal walk along the Lisbon shore from the Paredao promenade at Estoril east past the bays of Sao Joao do Estoril, Sao Pedro do Estoril and Parede to the surf beach of Carcavelos. Seafront footways follow the regional Trilho das Areias, with short stretches beside the Avenida Marginal, and the fortress of Sao Juliao da Barra closes the far end of Carcavelos beach. Wide views over the mouth of the Tagus follow the whole level route.
