Calçada de Alpajares

Trail description

An out-and-back on the legendary Calçada de Alpajares (the Devil's causeway), an old stone stairway classified as a Property of Public Interest, from near the Castro de São Paulo down into the deep valley of the Mosteiro stream in the south of the Freixo de Espada à Cinta municipality. It is the opening section of the PR1 FEC Mosteiro River Valley circuit (7.5 km) in the Douro Internacional Nature Park.
