Lake Pinatubo Crater Trek

Trail description

The walk from the end of the 4x4 road below Mount Pinatubo, an active stratovolcano, across sandy lahar terrain to the viewpoint over Lake Pinatubo, the crater lake formed after the 1991 eruption. Trips start from Brgy. Sta. Juliana in Capas, Tarlac, with a 4x4 ride to the trailhead; vehicles, tour guides and permits are usually arranged in advance, and the trek is avoided when storms bring lahar flood risk.
