Trail description
Short walk through the Huari district of Huancán, south of Huancayo, to the Wariwillka sanctuary. The Wanka held it sacred as their pacarina, the place of origin of their people, around a spring that never dries, and the complex dates from about AD 900–1100. Two centuries-old molle trees at the site, seen as a divine couple, were declared heritage trees in 2023. Remains of chambers, underground canals, pools and cisterns can be seen.
