Trail description
Walk from Túcume Viejo past Huaca Larga to the viewpoint over the Túcume pyramids in the Lambayeque valley. The site holds 26 large adobe pyramids and mounds over about 220 hectares, built by the Lambayeque (Sicán) culture from about AD 800 and later used by the Chimú and the Incas. The rocky hill at its centre, called Purgatorio by local people, is still invoked by healers in their rituals.
