Sóndor Ruins

Trail description

An 8.8 km walk with about 125 m of climbing from the west end of Laguna Pacucha, along its shore and through the villages of José Olaya and Laguna, to the Sóndor archaeological complex. Sóndor is a Chanka and Inca complex near the lake, 21 km north-east of Andahuaylas, and the largest Inca administrative centre in the Andahuaylas region. Rituals were held there at the solstices and equinoxes.
