Trail description
A 2.2 km walk with about 65 m of climbing and descent from the Macro ruins across the Utcubamba valley, passing a small cable car and about 150 m from the Silic site. Macro is a Chachapoya site built about 1100-1300 AD, covering 3 ha with platforms and circular foundations decorated with rhomboid friezes and wall niches, all in limestone. It stands on a slope 50 m from the right bank of the Utcubamba at about 1,850 m.
