Laguna Wilcacocha

Trail description

A 4.3 km climb of about 640 m from the Santa river bridge at Chiwipampa near Huaraz to Laguna Wilcacocha at about 3,725 m. The path climbs gently on a wide track, which makes it the classic first acclimatisation hike in Huaraz. From a hillock by the lake there is one of the best views of the Cordillera Blanca, including Huascaran, Huandoy, Chopicalqui and Churup.
