Trail description
A long valley walk from the hamlet of Jancu, about 40 minutes from Huaraz, up the Shallap gorge in Huascarán National Park to Laguna Shallap at 4250 m. The walk takes around 3 hours each way. The lake is about 630 m long and lies above 4000 m, so acclimatize first.
