Trail description
A steep climb from the hamlet of Pitec (3900 m), at the entrance to Huascarán National Park and about 45 minutes by combi from Huaraz, to Laguna Churup at about 4450 m below Nevado Churup. A smaller lake, Churupita, lies about an hour further on at the foot of the glacier. The trail goes well above 4000 m, so acclimatize first.
