Trail description
A moderate to hard trek above Huaraz, reached via the villages of Jinua and Paria Huilcahuaín, on a wide trail through eucalyptus, quenual woodland and fields to Laguna Ahuac at about 4550 m. The way up has views of the glaciers of Vallunaraju, Churup, Huamashraju and Cashan and over Huaraz. Best from May to November; the lake is well above 4000 m.
