Laguna 513 from Shonquilpampa

Trail description

A walk of about 6.5 km from Shonquilpampa, at the end of the dirt road beyond Hualcán above Carhuaz, to the turquoise Laguna 513 (4431 m) at the foot of Nevado Hualcán. The trail crosses a plain and a small quenual woodland, then climbs onto the glacier moraine, passing the smaller Rajupaquinán lake. The lake lies above 4400 m, so acclimatize first.
